WELCOME TO BFJ MINISTRIES!
Looking for guidance and support to help you survive adolescence? Butterflies for Jesus youth ministries started its outreach ministry in 2006 with a goal of providing youth with support and spiritual guidance during the adolescent years. We believe that every child should have the opportunity, confidence, character and support needed to lead a safe, healthy and productive life. They have a right to expect a fair chance to develop their talents and apply their energies in order to successfully contribute to society.
BFJ has made a commitment to help youth blossom into the beautiful BUTTERFLIES they were destined to be. Butterflies for Jesus was created out of a passion to see youth walking in the fullness of their destinies; our vision is to inspire, empower and transform our youth by convincing them that true success begins with a relationship with God that surpasses their circumstances.

WHO WE ARE...WHAT WE DO...
Butterflies For Jesus Youth Ministries is a faith based , non-profit mentoring ministry birthed out of a passion to see the next generation live at a higher level in Christ than generations before them. BFJ serves as support for middle school and high school youth needing guidance and support with issues such as dating, acceptance from peers, physical appearance, sex, drug/alcohol use and other issues they may be confronted with during the adolescent years. Our mission is to protect our youth from the wiles of the enemy by seasoning them with the Word of God.
A survey conducted by BFJ reveals that middle school and high school youth struggle with adolescence and sometimes find it difficult to discuss certain issues with a parent. The survey also reveals a number of issues youth deal with that could possibly alter their personalities; among those are the death of a close friend or relative, an absentee parent, the financial state of a parent or his/her parents’ relationship.
Youth who have not been taught how to handle these situations tend to become withdrawn and depressed which could ultimately lead to self-destruction.
The survey further reveals that most youth are uncomfortable discussing the previously mentioned issues with a parent for fear that the parent will immediately become suspicious, judgmental and in most cases, draw the wrong conclusion.
BFJ takes on the role of confidant and advisor providing the insight necessary to overcome the many obstacles youth will be faced with throughout the adolescent years .

BECOME A VOLUNTEER MENTOR

Becoming a mentor takes no particular talent. If you care about children and have a minimum of one hour a week to “share what you know”, you can become a mentor.
A mentor is a caring, adult friend who devotes time to a young person. All mentors have the same goal in common: to help youth achieve their potential and discover their strengths by sharing fun activities, being a good listener, and exposing a youth to new experiences, a mentor encourages positive choices, promotes high self-esteem, supports academic achievement, and introduces the young person to new ideas.
